I don’t care if Valentine’s Day is a commercial holiday invented by Hallmark. What is so wrong with celebrating love? Here in the W household we celebrate. But we do not celebrate at a restaurant. I’m not a glutton for punishment.

This year, since Bryce is a little busy with his dissertation, we went low-key.
I bought Bryce this book
and made him chocolate covered strawberries.
It was actually way easier to make chocolate covered strawberries than I thought it would be. Bryce has a soft spot for Dove Dark Chocolate. So I melted some down in my double boiler and dipped 2/3 of the strawberries in that. Then I melted some white/vanilla candy melts in the microwave and dipped the remaining strawberries in that. (After the strawberries were dipped I laid them on wax paper to dry. ) Then it was time to decorate the treats. I very badly, with no talent, drizzled the remaining chocolate on the strawberries.
Even though they weren’t the prettiest things ever, Bryce swore they were the best chocolate covered strawberries he had ever had. What a guy. Especially considering he got me
these gorgeous flowers!
